First workshop on Flexible Ureteroscopy (RIRS) in the country was organized by Dr Pawan Gupta in the year 1998 at R P Stone Clinic, Panipat.
Dr Pawan Gupta is First Surgeon in India to have designed a Ureteroscope for treatment of Kidney Stones. The scope is named Suction Ureteroscope by Pawan Gupta & is manufactured by Richard Wolf GmbH., Germany.
First Surgeon to use mini Ureteroscope for removal of ureteric stones. The results of the use of mini ureteroscope were published in the Journal of Endourology. (Vol. 20, Number 1, January 2006).
